On the back cover, we read:

If the fault of a brother is public and evident, you should justify it with love and brotherly kindness.

Say that to that brother, with other virtues hidden within him, in order to protect them, God allowed him to fall into this mistake.

Or if he has that flaw for a short period of time, in order to remain more humble in his own eyes, and even through the contempt of others, to bear some fruit of humility and to please God more, then his gain will be greater than his loss.

But if the sin of someone is not only apparent but also great, and comes from a stubborn heart, do not condemn him, but turn your thoughts to the fearful judgments of God, and you will see there other people who, although they were once in great transgression, have reached great levels of holiness through repentance, and others, again, who, while previously at the highest degree of perfection, have fallen into the most miserable abyss.
Therefore, always stand with fear and trembling, more for yourself than for anyone else.

And be assured that all those good words you speak for your neighbor and the joy you feel for him are the fruit and result of the Holy Spirit.

On the contrary, every contempt, arrogant judgment, and slander of the neighbor comes from our wickedness and from a demonic incitement.
